This kitty had been wandering around our apartment complex since her owners moved. We have had a huge downpour this past week and yesterday this sweet girl wandered in trying to escape the rain.

We quickly ran to Walmart to get pet supplies. She made herself right at home. She's sweet and warm and the softest baby.

Patient_Many4455 Phoenix. Reborn again to be a beloved family member of kind hero humans who will cherish her as an indoor pampered kitty never to be exposed to the potential relentless cruelty of the outside world without a love handle (harness with leash) or carrier.

Elizabeth-Aurora_08 I love this idea for her name. Also, the name Phoenix would capture the uniqueness of having an orange girl kitty!! They are so uncommon and so special! And how amazing it is that you've have adopted each other. Congrats, OP! ↑ 99 99 > Reply

cakivalue ⚫ This sub has me in a delicate constant balancing on the tightrope of feelings - disgust at humanity, love and hope and deep appreciation of humanity. This post has both. I'm so thankful that people like OP and partner exist who just decided it's cold and wet we are going to Walmart. 833 > Reply ...

julesk ⚫ I realize some people are just that way but because this cat was well cared for till they moved, I'm afraid that because of the economy, people are abandoning pets and taking them to shelters because their new place won't let them have pets (For example, if they moved in with family). This happened last time there was economic trouble. I'm hearing the shelters are filling up. ↑ 6 ♡ > Reply ...

Trailer TrashQueen Cat Parent Top 1% Commenter i know, but there a BIG difference between taking a pet to a shelter and abandoning them. of course life can change and people aren't able to keep a pet. what i, and many others, cannot understand is abandoning an animal. in my opinion, it's animal cruelty. bring them to a shelter. or a friend, neighbor or foster family. something, anything. then at least they have a chance & will be cared for.

would you abandon a pet? they might not survive. no constant source of food & water, getting in fights with feral animals, picking up diseases or getting sick, subjected to the elements like heat/cold/rain/snow. on and on. if i had to guess, i'd say 100% of the members in this sub would answer: NO. 853 > Reply ...

EdensGarden333 WHY do people do that? Abandon their pets like they are a piece of trash? I just don't get it! This cat looks like the sweetest cat ever and its owners just got in their cars and left it on the porch?? One day, those owners will feel like this cat when they are abandoned like they did to this kitty -- KARMA strikes hard and fast! The owners will never abandon another pet after Karma finds them! 49

Leoka⚫ I grew up on a farm in the 90's and people were constantly dumping their unwanted animals on out property. Cats, dogs, even a domestic rat once. We'd help the ones we could and never needed a barn cat because so many were abandoned. 19 ◇ Reply ...

Regular_Range_2451 OP ⚫ NAME UPDATE: We asked my 6 year old daughter for a name suggestion to add to the list. And we have decided this is Beanie. Our Beanie Baby. Beanie Weenie. Benis Wenis (when she is acting silly). Stink Bean (when she lets out a gnarly stink bomb fart). Thank you all for your suggestions!
